— One Of Only Two Known InstaMator 510 External Programmable Desktop Calculators. Price $2,200.

The InstaMator 510 is a lost — until now — piece of computer history. There is only one other record of this basically none existent, or better, unknown desktop calculator. Fortunately Diversified Electronics Co. Inc., filed a patent protecting the inventor’s, Kenneth D. Boyce’s invention and did so on April 4, 1972.

Kenneth Boyce had the novel idea to create a desktop calculator which could be programmed externally by circumventing the keyboard. He simply provided sockets to connect external logic to program his calculator. This genius invention circumvented existing patents protecting several ideas of already marketed programmable desktop calculators, such as the Olivetti’s Programma 101, and Hewlett Packard’s HP 9100A, read more>>
